Several members of the Regulatory Practice Group will attend the CNAR 2024 Annual Conference, which will be hosted in Ottawa on Monday, October 7th - Thursday, October 9th.
CNAR 2024 will offer multiple sessions of content, representing regulatory bodies nationwide, all focused on timely, Canadian-specific content, in addition to engaging, interactive networking opportunities, opportunities to interact with fellow attendees and speakers through breakout sessions and live Q&As, and the opportunity to learn more about the most up-to-date service offerings from valued sponsor.
Partners Amy Block and Kelsey Ivory will take part in "Capacity Issues in Registration, Discipline, and Fitness to Practise - a Balancing of Rights and Responsibilities" during the Pre-Event Workshop. This hands-on skills-based workshop will address capacity concerns that are raised in registration, capacity proceedings, or discipline proceedings (or in parallel proceedings), with a particular focus on resolution strategies.
Partners Amy Block and Debra McKenna will participate in a panel on discipline titled "Myths, Stereotypes, and Common Sense: Navigating the Legal Principles and Pitfalls of #IYKYK in Sexual Abuse Cases".
Partner Ben Kates will deliver a PechaKucha style presentation titled "SCC 'Value-Add': What a Regulator Needs to Know About Charter Rights and Charter Values".
