Partners Glenn Ackerley and Jeff Scorgie will co-host Decoding the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act, a two-part webinar series courtesy of the Canadian Construction Association on Thursday, February 1st and Thursday, February 15th, 2024. They will provide a comprehensive understanding of the Act to equip industry professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate these industry changes effectively.

Part 1 will focus on Prompt Payment, and will provide an overview of the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act, address the rights and obligations of parties regarding payment, and provide an understanding of the relationship between the federal and provincial acts.

Part 2 will focus on Adjudication, including a definition of what adjudication is about, and an overview of the adjudication process under the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act, the differences between the federal and provincial statutes, and contractual considerations.
