WeirFoulds is pleased to announce that Partner Frank E. Walwyn has been chosen as the 2022 recipient of The Eric Hoaken Excellence in Mentoring Award. Frank will receive this prestigious honour in person at The Advocates’ Society End of Term Dinner on June 23, 2022.
The Award recognizes advocates who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to and excellence in mentoring other advocates, together with a generosity of time and expertise in assisting more junior advocates.
Frank’s dedication to mentoring other advocates, particularly those from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession, is indisputable. As an immigrant from the Caribbean and a Black lawyer, Frank’s story, successes and challenges resonate with others, especially young lawyers who may struggle to see themselves represented in the legal profession. As a result, Frank is highly sought after as a resource for others who look to him for guidance in their own professional pursuits, and commits a significant amount of his time to this purpose.
The Eric Hoaken Excellence in Mentoring Award is the most recent testament to Frank’s continued commitment to giving back to the profession. The firm congratulates Frank on receiving this prestigious honour.
