Carissa DeMarinis is an Associate in the Wills, Trusts & Estates Practice Group at WeirFoulds LLP.

Prior to joining WeirFoulds, Carissa summered at the Toronto office of a global law firm and articled with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, an independent law office in Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General. In her articling role, she worked on behalf of children in wills & estates, civil litigation, child protection and family law matters, and provided rights advice to children in secure treatment facilities.

Carissa earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. During her time as a student, she was elected to serve as a 1L representative on the Students’ Law Society and was a caseworker at Downtown Legal Services, where she represented tenants in Landlord and Tenant Board disputes. Carissa and her teammate won “Best Negotiation Plan” at the 2023 Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition.
