Dena Givari is a litigator with broad experience in arbitration. She represents clients in expropriation matters and advises on trade and government related issues, including forced labour in supply chains.

Before joining WeirFoulds, Dena was Counsel at the Canadian Department of Justice’s Trade Law Bureau. In this role, she advised and represented the Government of Canada on issues of international trade law including rules of origin, trade remedies and investor-state disputes. She also advised the Competition Bureau and Trade Policy Group of the Government of Canada in negotiations with the United Kingdom, Indonesia, ASEAN and India.

Prior to this, Dena worked as an Associate lawyer at a Toronto-based law firm that specialized in corporate and securities law matters. She gained considerable experience in advising and representing clients before the British Columbia Securities Commissions, Mutual Fund Dealers Associations and Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments, representing clients in commercial arbitration, defending majority shareholders clients in proposed class action, and representing clients before the Ontario Superior Court.
