WeirFoulds LLP has a long standing and strong commitment to supporting women in the workplace. Applicants regardless of sex, race, national or ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, age or mental or physical disability are treated equally and respectfully in our hiring process. As such, the principles of employment equity, diversity and human rights have been an integral part of WeirFoulds since our beginning. In part, this stems from the fact that we have strong roots in the Greater Toronto Area, and our people are reflective of our Canadian identity. WeirFoulds continues to strive to be a fully integrated multicultural firm. We recruit and hire women and men of all ages, cultures and beliefs. We select applicants based on their abilities, goals and experience, and we foster an environment of acceptance and mutual respect.
Today we are proud to say that we are home to a diverse and multilingual group of lawyers and administrative staff. Our commitment to promoting diversity, social and cultural awareness both within the firm, and in our surrounding community is profoundly rooted in our firm’s spirit, which is part of what continues to fuel our passion for the law and our firm’s continued growth.
We are proud to support women lawyers and clients through our WeirFoulds Women (WFW) program. WFW was established in 1990 with the goal to promote a successful and diverse working environment. The firm hosts several successful events through WFW that provide an open forum to our lawyers, clients and contacts to discuss hot button issues such as women representation on corporate board of directors, work-life balance, organizational and health issues, and women in senior roles within law firms, amongst others.
