WeirFoulds is pleased to announce that partner Caroline Abela has been appointed Vice-Chair of the Estates Litigation Practice Group, The Advocates’ Society (TAS).
Caroline will hold the Vice-Chair position for the 2018-2019 term, following which she will ascend to the Chair role for the 2019-2020 term.
As the Vice-Chair of the Estates Litigation Practice Group, TAS, Caroline will assist with the running of the Estates Litigation Practice Group. The section offers opportunities to meet and connect with other members at education and networking events.
Caroline is experienced in complex estates and trusts litigation and commercial and corporate litigation. She represents clients ranging from large corporations and institutions to small business owners and professionals. As the Co-Chair of the International Private Client Committee, American Bar Association – Section of International Law, National Representative (Canada) for the International Association for Young Lawyers, and a member of the OBA Council and Chair of the current OBA Executive, Estates and Trusts Section, Caroline is actively involved in the legal community. Caroline has been recognized as a leading practitioner in the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory – Commercial and Corporate Litigation and in 2017 was named a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
The Advocates’ Society was established to ensure the presence of a courageous and independent bar, and the maintenance of the role of the advocate in the administration of justice.
Caroline will assume her role on June 7, 2018.
