WeirFoulds is proud to sponsor the 2018 Black Law Students’ Association of Canada (BLSA Canada) Julius Alexander Diversity Moot.
In addition to the firm’s sponsorship, Frank Walwyn, WeirFoulds Partner and long-time supporter of BLSA Canada, will participate as a judge for the moot.
In line with our commitment to promoting and celebrating diversity, WeirFoulds is a continued supporter of BLSA Canada events, including the Annual National Conference.
Frank delivered the Opening Keynote Address at the 25th Annual National Conference in 2016. In line with the conference theme, “Raising the Bar: Striving Toward Excellence”, he shared this uplifting message: “Leverage your differences – diversity is an opportunity.”
Each year, the unilingual moot focuses on an area of law in which issues of equity and diversity arise.
WeirFoulds sponsorship will assist in subsidizing the cost of accommodation and travel for student participants, as well as for judges and legal practitioners who volunteer to judge the moot.
