Partner Lucy Main, Co-Chair of WeirFoulds’ Wills, Trusts & Estates Practice Group, and Articling Student Yatin Sidhu were recently published in the Fall 2024 edition of Your Guide to Charitable Giving & Estate Planning.
Their article, “Interpreting Your Will: The Perils of an Unclear and Out of Date Will”, addresses the issues that can arise when a Will is out of date or contains ambiguous drafting, often requiring the executor to seek the assistance of a court in interpreting various clauses. This can lead to a testator’s intentions not being fulfilled.
Members of the WeirFoulds Wills, Trusts & Estates Practice Group have been proud contributors to the biannually published guide since the Spring 2018 edition. Lucy was most recently published in the Fall 2023 edition alongside Associate Lori Isaj, where the two discussed an Ontario court decision in Dors et al. v. The Public Guardian and Trustee.
