Partner Glenn Ackerley, the Chair of WeirFoulds’ Construction Practice Group, was recently recognized by the Council of Ontario Construction Associations (COCA) with the COCA Construction Hard Hat Award during a ceremony at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The award recognizes “outstanding contributions to improving the province’s construction industry”, and is awarded to individuals who do something remarkable to advance the construction industry’s interests.
Glenn has been recognized by Benchmark Litigation, Chambers Canada Guide, Best Lawyers in Canada, and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a leading lawyer in construction law. He represents clients from across the construction industry on a variety of construction project-related matters, including construction and consultant contracts, procurement issues, and construction lien, bond, deficiency and delay claims.
Outside of his legal practice, Glenn is a member of one of the National Advisory Councils of the Canadian Construction Association. Throughout his career, he has served as a member of the Canadian Construction Association’s board of directors, was a chairman of the board of the Toronto Construction Association, sat on the executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Construction and Infrastructure Section, and served as a member of the Expert Panel’s Advisory Group on changes to Ontario’s Construction Lien Act, which led to the passage of the new Construction Act.
