WeirFoulds is pleased to announce that Lisa Danay Wallace, senior associate of our Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Group, has been appointed Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law Section executive for the 2019-2020 term.
As a leader of the Section executive, Lisa, along with a team of executive members, is responsible for facilitating learning, advocacy and networking on behalf of the OBA’s IT and IP law practitioners.
Lisa held the Section’s Vice-Chair position in 2018-2019. During the term, she played a key role in developing innovative and exciting programming, facilitating informative practice-specific articles, and encouraging and facilitating participation from section members. Prior to 2018, she was an active member, holding the role of Secretary since 2016.
Lisa’s technology practice focuses on tech and Internet-based companies. She also acts for companies from a diverse range of industries in order to assist them as customers of technology, and with their privacy and other compliance needs.
Lisa will assume her new role as Chair on July 1, 2019.
