WeirFoulds welcomes Associates Kathleen Gregus, Piper McGavin, Yalda Mousavi and Hashim Sohail to the firm

WeirFoulds is pleased to welcome four new associates to the firm in the following practice areas:

Kathleen Gregus – Construction

Kathleen is an Associate in the Construction Practice Group. She has experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of construction contracts, and providing strategic advice on procurement processes. Kathleen has assisted construction clients, including public and private owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants at various stages of contractual disputes.

Before being called to the bar, Kathleen articled and summered with the firm. Prior to joining WeirFoulds, Kathleen gained hands-on industry experience working for her family’s architectural millwork company in Southwestern Ontario.

Piper McGavin – Commercial Litigation; Employment & Labour

Piper McGavin is an Associate in both the Commercial Litigation and Employment & Labour Practice Groups.

Prior to being called to the bar, Piper articled and summered with the firm. Piper has experience drafting materials and providing advice for clients at all stages of the litigation process. Piper has assisted clients with commercial disputes and employment law issues such as wrongful dismissals, employment standards and human rights disputes.

Before joining WeirFoulds, Piper gained experience as a Summer Law Student with a Toronto-based boutique corporate law firm.

Yalda Mousavi – Real Estate

Yalda Mousavi is an Associate in the Real Estate Practice Group.

Before joining WeirFoulds as an Associate, Yalda gained extensive experience in a wide range of practice areas as a Summer Student and Articling Student with the firm. Prior to her time as a student with the firm, Yalda was a Legal Intern and Policy Officer with a nationally focused senior advocacy organization, during which she collaborated with a team of policy officers to produce pre-budget government submissions, draft reports, and develop standards and recommendations for national and provincial dementia strategies.

Hashim Sohail – Commercial Litigation

Hashim Sohail is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group.

Prior to being called to the bar, Hashim articled and summered with the firm. Before this, he gained experience in Data Protection & Privacy Law with the Ontario Ministry of Health, where he provided legal policy analysis, conducted research on Canadian privacy jurisprudence, and contributed to the modernization of health privacy legislation.
