On Thursday, February 4, 2016, Honeywell (NYSE:HON) completed the previously announced acquisition by plan of arrangement of COM DEV International Ltd. (TSX:CDV), a leading satellite and space components provider of switches and multiplexers.
COM DEV will be part of Honeywell’s Defense and Space business and will drive continued growth across Honeywell’s connectivity initiatives, benefiting the company’s military, civilian and commercial aviation customers. The acquisition complements Honeywell’s existing space business and enhances its radio frequency and microwave engineering competencies.
The advancements in technology that have been developed, and that will continue to be developed, by Honeywell as a result of the acquisition of COM DEV should be noted. The acquisition will provide Honeywell’s commercial and government customers access to one of the broadest space satellite equipment portfolios in the industry.
